Not many people these days use the words Darn It! when something goes wrong in the workplace or doesn’t go their way. They use other words that I am sure I shouldn’t be writing in this blog. Their heart starts to pound and maybe they start to throw some things across the room. They then take their frustration out on someone else at the workplace. Not really a good idea.
What happens when a shipment comes into your facility that isn’t up to specifications? Maybe you are responsible for the issue, maybe not. Either way, it is a problem that needs to get solved before the items hit the selling floor. You can’t sell poor quality items or defective items. That’s not good for the company’s reputation.
This is where our company Darn It! comes into play. Some of you may already be customers of ours, and then there are some people who don’t know that you can partner with a re-work and refurbishment facility to correct many of these issues and then get them back onto the shelves quickly. Don’t consider sending these shipments back to the manufacturer or selling them off to discounters. Choose instead to call the Apparel Inspection or Apparel Repair teams at Darn It!
You may hear these issues called re-work, corrections or refurbishment. Darn It! sell two things: Space and Labor. Darn It has over 300,000 square feet of space to be able to manage multiple projects at one time. We also have over 60 full-time staff members who are crossed trained in many of the tasks requested by our customers. Whether you are an apparel brand, shoe retailer or accessories importer. Darn It can assist you in many ways to save you many headaches and of course dollars.
Here are a few examples of how we can help:
- Have you ever had a care / content label that had the wrong information on it or in fact, the content added up to over 100%? We have a full sewing staff who can get these labels changed out either by machine or by hand, so they now comply with the laws in the US to be put back on the shelves.
- Stains on garments are certainly a problem when trying to sell them. Darn It’s Apparel Inspection team can inspect them and sort them good from bad, and if you would like, the repair team can then spot clean these items to get as many first quality units back to the customer.
- Mold and Musty smells can be a big turn off. Darn It! has two large Ozone Chambers used for mold and odor remediation. Let us clean and remove the odor from those shipments that have been sitting on the containers or trucks too long. Water / moisture can also cause many of these issues. We have many solutions for these problems as well.
- Are returns piling up during or after the holidays? Darn It! also has a department for returns processing, where we will receive the units, inspect them, and repackage them. With a quick turnaround, they can then be resold as first quality within a short period of time.
- One of our retail customers just had a sweater shipped to us that was made with the wrong color buttons. They were supposed to be black, and they shipped with navy buttons. Within a few days, the retailer had the factory send a small box of buttons for us to use in the repair instead of having to ship all the sweaters back overseas.
